Colven Benjamin bio

Mr.  Colven Benjamin is currently the Senior Information Technology Project Manager with the URimagination. He is also a director with Legalshield and additionally works as an adjunct professor of Computer Science and Industrial Engineering at the Borough of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Metropolitan Colleges in New York.

With more than fifteen years of professional experience, Colven is an expert in software infrastructure management for large enterprises. His broad technical background includes extensive systems architecture, software development, database and network engineering, and business analysis skills with a multitude of industry certifications including Microsoft MCSE, MCSD, MCDBA and MCT, Sun Certified Java Programmer and Oracle 11i Certified DBA. 

He has led projects through all aspects of the systems lifecycle including requirements generation, analysis and planning, design, implementation, software quality assurance, deployment, and operations. Colven often advises clients on best practices in the field for implementing and administering software distribution and management systems.

He currently manages and oversees a team of five engineers who work for Lockheed Martin that are assigned to multiple software projects within URimagination. Colven has enhanced his experience by designing, coaching to and delivering Information technology leadership and sales excellence programs to various institutions.  He is uniquely positioned to impact organizations’ productivity and long term success, with his powerful vision of bringing purpose into the people equation to promote healthy, productive and meaningful information technology work cultures. 

Additionally, he has spent a lifetime acquiring experience around passionate and purposeful people strategy, cumulating in him advancing to the rank of director with Legalshied a multi-level marketing company based in Ada, Oklahoma. Then too, exposure to various business cultures and widely divergent professionals ensures his comfort level in working for a wide variety of organizations____private, public and consulting. After several years of executive information technology management, Colven followed his passion for cultivating talent and joined the faculties at the Borough of Manhattan Community, Brooklyn and Metropolitan colleges. 

He holds a B.s and M.s degrees in Computer Science from NYUPoly (formerly Polytechnic University) and Brooklyn College respectively.
